This big and beautiful home with annexe has some of the best long range views in Yorkshire

Rob Hart, interior designer and owner of the Lionhart Boutique homeware store in Holmfirth, has used his talent to make sure his house in Upperthong is very well dressed.Yet, no matter how beautiful or how luxurious, the inside still comes second to the sensational long-range views that this big and beautiful home enjoys.“They are magnificent. They stop you in your tracks and stretch over to Holme Moss. I take a photograph of the views most days and they are something I will really miss when I sell the house,” says Rob, who is planning to downsize so he can buy somewhere smaller, along with a home in France.

Since buying the property in 2007 when it was a shell with no fixtures and fittings, he has turned it into a family home with no expense spared on the fit-out.

He has also added electric gates and a coach house that serves as a garage and a large, one-bedroom annexe while turning a field at the side of the property into a south-facing, tiered garden.

For those who love the look he has created inside, Rob is happy to sell the furniture and accessories by separate negotiation, though his pet African Grey parrot, who talks and enjoys swearing, is not for sale.

“I’ve loved living here with my two children but I am looking to move to a smaller home here and a small property in France,” says Rob, who adds: “I’ll miss those views because I know I’ll never get anything like them again.”
