Leeds tech firm becomes first company in Europe to win global software giant's innovation award

Leeds-based virtualDCS, the channel-first cloud and disaster recovery specialist, has become the first company in Europe to scoop an innovation award from global software giant, Veeam Software.

Veeam is the leader in data protection and ransomware recovery solutions, and the Veeam Innovation Awards (VIAs) are one of the industry’s most sought-after and respected accolades.

With more than 100 nominations, the judging panel of industry experts selected just four Veeam Partner winners in the category that recognises “outstanding offerings that are delivering great capabilities to their customers”.

“There’s no doubt that becoming the first company headquartered in Europe to win a VIA is another key differentiator over our competitors and demonstrates that not all service providers are alike.”

Mr May and virtualDCS CRO, Kurt Kiefer, will be presented with the award at VeeamON 2023, the community event for data recovery experts, taking place from May 22 to 24 in Miami.

The accolade coincides with virtualDCS celebrating its fifteenth anniversary and releasing its new CloudCover portal.

Jason Buffington, vice president of market strategy at Veeam in the US, described virtualDCS as a “perfect example of a partner company creating solutions that astound and delight us.”
