Leeds-based The Data City set for global expansion after period of strong growth

A Yorkshire-based data company is set for global expansion after securing a number of high profile contract wins.

Leeds-based The Data City expects to see revenues double to £1.6m this year. The Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) company has gained more than £600,000 in contracts in the last quarter, which is double the amount recorded in the same period last year.

The Data City has secured new projects with the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), the Government Office for Science and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), which will see it deliver data and insights to support economic growth.

Commenting on the expansion, Alex Craven, CEO of The Data City, said: "We are building a new and more accurate way to understand our economy and the companies that operate within it. It is continuing to recruit software engineers, data scientists, data analysts and developers as demand for its services continues to grow.
